MAC & THE GOEMERATI TOUR OF 2003
with thanks to British Airways, Tokai Travel, Copenhagen Jazz festival, North Sea Jazz festival Ana and the many beautiful people that : accommodated us : the greatest Jazz professor, Lars Warning.

Written with great fondness and gratitude for "Ma Mac" as Ana would so affectionately call your mom. The classic buba she learnt to cook from Concelia was a great celebration and relaxation after all the music you set free on those Haplessly Happy Hanoverians. And you were man alone!

It was the spring of 2003 and the only thing that would pay our tickets to Germany was the promise that the Cape Town Minstrel Carnival would become internationalised in the sense that participants could join existing 'public' groups for a fee and it would take on more of the flare of the Rio carnival whilst maintaining the rigid sense of discipline and competition that marks the greatest stream of musical development in the Cape. The project suited our intention and the new wave of 'cultural' tourism that would spread across the Cape. Germany was an unusal choice of destination, but how fantastic and relaxed and creative and meditative and healing was Hannover? And hitting the big time in the big city of Hamburg was high time! Amsterdam was a dissapointment , worth Mac's statement "you need a dissapointment before an appointment!"
