Brief info

Zintle Neahtyah Mbuyazwe is an African jazz music songwriter, vocalist, and performer. Born in Eastern Cape Engcobo in a village called Clarkebury. Currently she is studying music at the University of Fort Hare, specialising in Vocal Jazz and Jazz studies. Neahtyah’s musical journey began in East London in 2012, where she was inspired by the city’s art scene and creative geniuses. In the early stages of her career, she flourished as a lead vocalist for the famed East London band, Highway to Heaven Alive.
Neahtyah’s unique sound composition comprises content-rich, organic, live Xhosa rhythms and afro-jazz. It is rooted in what she describes as “Truth”, an element that promotes life and living. Through her music, she intends to spark hope and bring peace of mind to a depressed world.
With her first love being the stage, she has not only performed in her own music shows and concerts. She has co-created with other artists, spreading the gospel of a righteous life- sustaining and healing sound and continues to explore ways of establishing a communal, musical, creative, artistic and alternative lifestyle. This is confirmed by her being part of the "Roots grown deep" ensemble led by Joel Karabo Eliot and also Izanusi zengoma ensemble.
